About Me

Thank you for joining me on my blog. I understand that no one has a perfect faith journey––I hope these posts and articles are resourceful as you dig deeper into your relationship with Jesus. I’ll share a little about myself, but feel free to share about yourself as well. Send me your feedback to any of these blogs in the comment section, OR feel free to share prayer requests and your story at SkylineChurch.org

I was born and raised in San Diego. I was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals out of High School. Later I attended San Diego Christian College (previously Christian Heritage College). During those years I was playing professional baseball and during the off-season, I played basketball at San Diego Christian College where I studied biblical exposition. That’s also where I met my wife, Janie. I’ve earned two Master’s degrees from Haggard School of Theology at Azusa Pacific University; one in Religion emphasizing in Theology and Ethics, and the other, a Master of Divinity degree. Can you tell that I love to learn? In 2016, I earned a Doctor of Ministry degree at Talbot Theological Seminary.

Overall, I’ve been in full-time ministry for over 23 years. I started out as a Youth Pastor in South County San Diego and then moved to a Young Adult and teaching role at High Desert Church in Victorville, CA. In 2007, I began to build teams to plant a new church called Seven San Diego Church. My passion for equipping others, evangelizing, and seeing the ministry grow to reach the lost continues to fuel me every day. In 2018, the Lord presented me with the opportunity to become the Lead Pastor of Skyline Church in Rancho San Diego. Seven Church is now a campus of Skyline Church. And THIS year, I launched my first book, Shark Weak! This book is based on a six-week sermon series I gave in 2019. The response to the sermons was so great and so many people were experiencing tangible growth, that I knew I had to create a book that was equally as practical as the sermon series.

Along with pastor and husband, I’m also the father to three sons; Riley, Aidan, and Levi. You’ll hear about them from time to time in my blogs. You’ll also notice that my background in baseball and sports stands out in my writing. God uses all of our backgrounds to help us spread the Good News of Jesus. Baseball happens to be a BIG part of my life, and I use it to bring people to Christ. My goal is to help people find and follow Jesus SEVEN days a week. I understand it’s not easy to find a church home, and I want to invite you to join us at one of our four campuses. We have two in San Diego, one in Kansas and one online at SkylineChurch.org.

Here are a few of my most read blogs that I hope will give you practical ways to draw closer to God.

Jeremy I am a Skyliner for 46 years but I just wanted to let you know that during this lockdown You have been such a blessing to me and my family through God I can’t even express the words to thank you for what you have done and what you are doing God is using you in a great way. Take care. Hope to be back in the chapel soon. Blessings on you.

  2. Pastor Jeremy really blessed by message End Times. God has awesome timing, as each night I go through my bible and read 1 chapter night. This Sunday night was a blessing as I opened to 1 Thessalonians as Paul had his hands full about questions for the end times. Something I use to be terrified to even think about, let alone conceive that as follower of Christ have to live it out. Learning who I belong to makes a huge difference.

  3. Hi Pastor ! My wife and I have been attending skyline on and off for a few months now. We sit up front on the right at the 11. We believe God wants us to learn and grow at Skyline. We signed up for the membership dinner recently but had to cancel due to staffing issues at my business. Thank you Pastor Jeremy for the lessons each week and the tools you help me get to function as a child of God. I live in Apple Valley and listen most the time on-line. I recently attended the High Desert Church, I hope that’s ok. I want to be able to connect with people and classes.
You don’t know me, I went to 7 a couple times when visiting & have attended Skyline a couple times. However I follow on line daily.
