We had our walk through at Wolf Canyon and we are thrilled to report that it seems like a perfect facility for 7SD. We are having a Grand Opening Launch party for this new location on September 14. Tell your friends, neighbors, co-workers, fellow students, etc., come help us kick off and celebrate this new location.
I know it’s been 6 months since our last move and we were well over due. So, beginning Sunday, September 14, we, The Seven San Diego church family are moving again. AND, we are very excited about it. The new facility is called Wolf Canyon Elementary School. Hit the link to check it out. http://www.cvesd.org/wolfcanyon/default.aspx Located at 1950 Wolf Canyon Loop, Chula Vista, CA. 91913. It’s actually right next to Olympian High School where we started and had our first services.
We will be moving back to Olympian HS in January. Although moving has it’s challenges, I must say we are excited about what God is doing and how we get to ride His wave. This new facility will work out much better for us, although the location is off the beaten path, the facility suits us much better. We were blessed to be at the AMC theater for 6 months located in the heart of town but we were running out of children’s space having rented 3 theaters to accommodate everybody.
Also, I’m looking forward to being in the High Desert this weekend doing a wedding and being with my desert friends at HDC and at 7 HD. I’ve been enjoying the brutal heat in San Diego…it’s like 78…tough, that’s like 6 degrees higher than normal, hope it’s not much worse in the High Desert??? 🙂 See many of you this weekend.
Charger pre-season officially began on Saturday with a thrashing of the Dallas Cowboys. I know it’s only pre-season but if we’re keeping score I want to win and it was nice to get off to a great start. There are high expectations for the Bolts this year and we’re hoping for a Super Bowl.
Whenever the Bolts play out of town/East the game begins at 10:00am here in San Diego…on Sunday…same time as church…Oh thank Heaven for the DVR!!! For all you Raider fans, there is hope this year, as in right now, because the season has yet to begin! Although I will say I think Darren McFadden is going to help out tremendously. He is an amazing rookie running back. If he’s not injured you will win some games riding on his legs alone. It’s a great time of year, every team has a legitimate shot at the Super Bowl even the Haiders.
Mt. Hermon was once again a great week. This was our 7th year in a row going to the Coastal Redwoods conference center. Every year the kids look forward to it. This year it was even more special. The kids were extra hyper in wanting to get there. They started asking about it 2 months earlier. Then, every day for the last three weeks Riley or Aidan would ask about Mt. Hermon.
It was great. We arrived and found out we would not have our beloved cabin known as “Acorn.” We were booked into a cabin called, “Cedar.” We didn’t realized we would be sharing the small cabin with so many guests. Dozens of spiders and flying insects welcomed us and continually reminded us throughout the week of who’s cabin it really is. Notice the small shower, suitable for the spiders, not a 6’6″ dude. One time I pulled back Aidan’s covers and a huge spider came scampering out…looked at me and I could of swore I heard, “put the covers back, my eight legs get cold.”
Nevertheless, a great week. And, there was great teaching. I soaked up every bit of it. Three messages a day were given and I heard all but one! Normally, that is not the case, but I couldn’t get enough, talk about getting “fed.” Needless to say, we already put our deposit down for next year….hopefully, we’ll be back in Acorn.
